Business Development Manager, Asia

We’re recruiting a Business Development Manager (South Asia) based to be based in Kuala Lumpur to drive growth, strengthen partnerships, and expand market presence across the region for our client who is a collaborative, forward-thinking global leader in critical communications.

The Role

You’ll manage regional partners and key accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction while growing long-term revenue. Working closely with Business Development and Sales Engineering teams, you’ll develop and execute strategies to expand into new markets and verticals.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and grow accounts across Southeast Asia
• Build strong, lasting customer and partner relationships
• Identify and convert new business opportunities
• Develop account plans and drive recurring revenue
• Support tenders, RFIs, and partner engagement
• Expand market share across new sectors and verticals
• Represent the business at trade shows and industry events

What You Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in telecoms, IT, or critical communications (LMR preferred)
• Proven success with government, SI, or oil & gas customers
• Strong sales, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Strategic thinking with solid project management capability
• Confident presenter and communicator
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia and English
• Thai, Vietnamese, or Chinese language skills (advantage)
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications) or similar

Additional Info

• ~50% regional travel (Southeast Asia)
• Full driving licence and valid passport required
• Occasional evening work to collaborate with global teams
